Usha worked as a tax lawyer for 12 years before embarking on the LASALLE MA in Asian Art Histories. She is also a Chartered Accountant of Singapore (Non – Practicing) and holds a Master’s Degree in Professional Accounting. In her career as a tax specialist, she published extensively and has worked in both the public and private sectors. While a student at LASALLE, Usha co- founded (Plu)ral. The Art Blog, an online magazine featuring accessible art historical writing on modern and contemporary Southeast Asian art. Being a fluent Malay speaker, Usha’s particular research interests are centered on Indonesian modern and contemporary art. Her MA thesis focused specifically on the practice of an artist collective, the Sanggar Dewata Indonesia.
