Agnes is graduating with an MA in Asian Art Histories from LASALLE College of the Arts. She also holds a degree in multimedia arts from the Birmingham Institute of Art and Design.
Her works engage the intersections of world histories and Southeast Asian histories as mediated through art, exhibition and visual culture. Her thesis examined Xu Beihong’s art, nationalism and exhibitions in Singapore,
In 2018, Kelly rekindled her passion for art after participating in a workplace retreat that introduced her to acrylic painting. Since then, she has been on a self-guided artistic journey, creating commissioned works and deepening her knowledge. In 2021, Kelly broadened her horizons by taking short courses on Western art histories at LASALLE College of the Arts, igniting a newfound love for the subject.
When does art becomes difficult? Indeed, art becomes “artistically meaningful” when it is brought to face and intervene in the world.
